Like top-notch schools, a good library system is a sign that a community sees the value of a well-informed and well- educated citizenry. Traditionally, Yakima has been just such a community.

Starting today, when ballots begin arriving in mailboxes, city voters will be asked to decide if a larger and more stable avenue of funding library services represented by annexation into the Yakima Regional Library District is the right structure for the future. Ballots in the all-mail election must be returned on or before April 25.
