YAKIMA - Darris Luella (Jones) Bernier passed away July 1, 2006 following an extended illness.

Darris was born on October 15, 1938 to Archer and Cora Jones in Union, Oregon. She moved to White Salmon, Washington as a young girl, growing up next to Northwestern Lake with her sister Kay and brothers Darrell and Corky. As an adult, Darris lived in California and Minnesota. In 1988, she and her husband, Earl, moved to Yakima. She worked in various warehouses in Yakima and as a camp host on White Pass and Chinook Pass until retirement several years ago. She and Earl bought a motor home so they could enjoy traveling the country. They preferred their winters in Arizona where they could stay out of the cold.
