BLUE SPRINGS, MO - Doris Alice Hufferd, 81, formerly of Yakima, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 22, 2005, at the Blue Springs Care Center, Blue Springs, Missouri, with loved ones at her side. Doris was born on November 30, 1923, to Albert and Hazel (Tehan) Perry in Williston, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Williston and graduated from Williston High School in 1941. Soon after graduation, she moved to the northwest and was working at Seattle Co-op where she met her husband, Charles W. Hufferd. They were married on December 18, 1950. In 1952, they made their home in Yakima, where she was employed as deputy city treasurer for the City of Yakima and had filled in as acting treasurer four times, retiring in 1981. She and her husband then moved to Camano Island, Washington.
