YAKIMA - We lost our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend, Dorothy M. Schneider, 84, on July 1, 2005. Dorothy was born December 29, 1920, the second child of Leo Messmore and Anna Stoltz Messmore in Sturgis, South Dakota. In 1936, she moved to Yakima to live with her cousins and work. In 1938, Dorothy married Jacob E. Schneider and they were married over 50 years when Jack passed away. Jack and Dorothy owned Jack's Market from 1942 to 1960 on 515 N. First Street. After selling the grocery store, Dorothy went to work as a baker at Wray's Thrift way where she stayed until retirement.See the full content of this document
