Summary


While difference of opinion and lively debate is healthy for any governing body, we would have hoped that the newly reconstituted Yakima City Council could find something more substantial to bicker about than whether to support a Feb. 19 special levy ballot proposal for Yakima schools.

And a word of advice to the panel, which now features two new faces and two returned to their seats after the November elections: It's really hard to play both ends against the middle on an issue because when the final vote is taken, you're not allowed to vote "maybe." You can't even vote "yes and no."
