A Few Not-so-Warm Memories

Summary


I don't know who it was that discovered Gore-Tex -- some person named Gore, I assume -- but I would like to personally thank him, her or them for finally keeping me dry and somewhat warm over the past few years.

Gore-Tex is a fabric that is now used in just about every rain jacket and parka that is produced for the outdoors. It is totally waterproof, yet it still breathes, allowing moisture to escape when needed. How it works, I don't know. And I don't care, as long as it works.
