We were among the supporters of a new "graffiti pod" program to lock up graffiti taggers in Yakima County's juvenile detention facility, and nearly a year's worth of experience offers a good opportunity to see if it's worth the cost. Is it effective?
Not to say it's ineffective, but results need to be studied and perhaps the program needs to be modified. Graffiti obviously still abounds in many Yakima Valley cities, particularly Yakima. If the pod isn't the deterrent it was hoped to be, perhaps that money could be better used elsewhere.See the full content of this document
