RICHMOND, VA - A former native of Yakima, Lyle Stotts, died in Richmond, Virginia on Friday, September 14, 2007, age 83. The cause of death was lymphoma, first diagnosed in May of 2007.
After graduating with honors from (then) Yakima Senior High in 1942 he began studies at the University of Washington, only to be interrupted by WWII. He enlisted with the Army Air Corp, while in flight school he married the former Irene Lung of Prosser and Yakima. His squadron was shipped to England where he had many missions over Europe flying his P-51 fighter, named "Yakima Chief".See the full content of this document
