YAKIMA - Margaret E. Day, of Yakima, passed away at the age of 85 on Friday June 4, 2010. She had resided at Riverview Manor in Selah for the past few years. Margaret was born in Sunnyside, Washington with her sister Betty Lou Hanken (passed) and her parents Carl and Elizabeth Rinehold. When she graduated from high school she moved to Oregon to attend nursing school. After receiving her degree she moved back to Washington and went to work for her uncle, a local surgeon, where she met her husband Robert (Bob) Day. They made their home in Yakima and began their family. While raising her family, she worked at Parkside Nursing Home in the 50's, then Mt. Vista Nursing Home in the 60's and 70's. She retired from Yakima Valley School in 1992. Margaret was an avid reader; she could regularly be found at the kitchen table reading a book. She also enjoyed playing dice with family and friends who came to visit. She loved to fish and boat with her family and many of her lifelong friends. At home in the summertime you could find Margaret working in her garden and sitting on her patio enjoying her plants, flowers, and the beauty of nature around her.See the full content of this document
