Summary


The Maryhill Museum of Art reopens Monday with several new exhibitions: "It's More than a Game: The Art of Chess Today" features American chess sets and works of art made in the past 50 years that use chess as a visual metaphor. Among the artists whose work is included in the exhibit are Steven Adams, Tim Alexander, Fritz Eichenberg, Gideon Hughes, Amen Irving, Richard Kaisch, Louise McDowell, Dede McKay, Kim Murton, Dennis Peterson, Stephen Pettengill, George Ratkai, Rima, Richard Quigley and Gene Zelazny. Runs through July 4.

"Candy, Clay & Crayons: Chess Sets by Young Northwest Artists" is the sixth edition of this exhibit that features chess sets created by kindergarten-high school students. Runs through July 4.
