Summary
St. John the Forerunner is one of 17 Greek Orthodox monasteries in North America.
A Goldendale doctor, the late G. Johannes Timmer, donated 48 acres for the monastery, founded in 1995 by three Greek Orthodox nuns. They traveled from Greece to start the monastery, which sits on 60 acres. Twelve additional acres were purchased through donations.
