YAKIMA, Wash. -- Chances for a proposed charter amendment that would reshape the way Yakima City Council members are elected hit a major setback Tuesday: the City Council.
The council unanimously voted to put off any discussion of a district-election set-up until its Jan. 4 meeting. That dashed the hopes of petitioners who hoped to make an end-of-the month deadline to get their proposal on the February ballot.See the full content of this document
