I believe Jack Irion misapplies the law when he suggests that an opposing view must be found to justify this viewing. I remind Mr. Irion that the notion of academic freedom gives teachers considerable discretion in selecting instructional materials. If appropriate to the age and maturity of the students (is there a question?), the film should be avoided only if "disruptive" to the learning environment. I have seen the film. It summarizes the latest scientific thinking about global warming. To my knowledge, no environmental scientist in the world argues that Mr. Gore has the facts wrong.
