Martinez shaved 38 seconds off last year's time, clocking 18 minutes, 5 seconds in the 4A girls race for a 47-second victory on the fast three-mile course. Richland's eighth-ranked girls edged the Pirates for the title by four points.
Eisenhower's Cody VanDeBrake won the boys race in 15:55 and led the Cadets to their sixth district title in seven years.
