SEATTLE - Born August 16, 1916 in St. John, Kansas, the fifth of nine children of John W. and Alice Jane (Kennedy) Lill. She moved to Yakima in 1942 following her marriage to Gene B. Lock who was stationed in the Army at the Yakima Firing Center. She died June 27, 2008 in Seattle. Sarah is survived by her daughter, Barbara, and grandchildren, Gabriel, Effie, and Sarahgene, all of Seattle; and survived by her son, Bill Lock (Patricia) of Sammamish, WA, their children, Christina Lock of Seattle and Heather Johnson (Mike) of Olympia, WA, and their children, Ali and Ella. Also survived by her siblings, Ruth Lill Tuttle of Wheat Ridge, CO, Joe Lill (Lilli) of Arlington, VA, and Harlan Lill of Plainville, KS. Preceded in death in 1989, by Gene, her loving husband of 46 years. Sarah moved to Seattle to live with Barbara and family after the death of her husband. She had been bookkeeper for many years at the family business, G. B. Lock Floorcovering in Yakima, and was also a very talented seamstress. Sarah was a long time member of Women's Century Club and Daughters of the Nile.
