Summary
Sunshine and Wisteria, a locally owned independent bookstore located in Yakima's Westpark Shopping Center, closed its doors forever last November. The store, a longtime favorite of locals, had been open for more than 10 years. I often shopped there and was devastated to hear it had closed.
But this sort of story is nothing new in Yakima, where local stores have recently been going out of business at an alarming rate. Some of the locally owned businesses that have closed in the past year include Talcott's Music, which had been open since 1910, the Coffeehouse at tim's basement, a club that offered live music, and Rinconcito Salvadoreano, a restaurant serving authentic cuisine from El Salvador.See the full content of this document
