They share the same building, but their entrances face opposite streets. That's not the only way the contemporary 4th Street Theatre has separated itself at birth from its genteel parent, the Capitol Theatre.

The "black box" theater is aptly named; raven-hued drapes offer the only wall adornment for a sizable yet square and spare space with an alcove on one side -- placed perfectly for vendors to serve beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres that patrons can carry to their tables.
