CASA GRANDE, AZ - Winston Nicholas Hoffman walked into his beloved desert on January 10th and began his eternal sleep while resting in the warm sand of Arizona.
Born in Renville, Minnesota on January 15, 1921, his grandfather homesteaded in West Valley in 1912. Winston's family moved here on October 31, 1931. With their father, John, the three Hoffman boys, Eugene, Charles and Winston, established "Hoffman Orchards", consisting of 150 acres of apples, pears, cherries and the Gromore Warehouse. Gromore was the end of the railway "the Wide Hollow Spur Line", which would pick up the packed apples for distribution.See the full content of this document
