GRASS VALLEY, Ore. -- Police in Oregon say a Yakima woman fired multiple shots from a handgun while she was being held in the back of a deputy sheriff's car Wednesday.

Candice Sahme, 24, surrendered shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday following a six-hour standoff, according to a news release issued Thursday by the Oregon State Police.
